As a rule, authors are extremely free-spirited people who do not like too much formality. On the one hand, such thinking of the authors is excellent for preserving their freedom, but on the other hand, it is extremely bad as far as the protection of their rights is concerned, since it often happens that they remain completely unprotected or even abused.
It proved necessary to entrust the protection of copyright to someone who would constantly deal with it on behalf of the authors, while not affecting their creativity. For this reason, two years ago, the Association of Authors – Organization of Artists of Fine Arts was founded in Belgrade with the aim of ensuring copyright protection for its members. In addition, the Association informs its members about all current topics, provides free legal assistance, organizes seminars and exhibitions, and in the near future will be there to provide authors with compensation from the collective exercise of rights.
How important the work of the Association is for the authors themselves, was recognized by colleagues such as Mrđan Bajić, Predrag Koraksić Koraks, Slavimir Stojanović Futro, as well as numerous authors throughout Serbia who joined the Association. On Friday, December 9, from 7 p.m., a presentation of the Association will be held in Cultural Center GRAD with a mini-lecture on basic terms, problems and copyright protection.
See you!
