Specializing in intellectual property law, Relja Mirkov, a Partner and co-Founder of Mirkov Čivtelić & Jakšić Law Firm, is acknowledged as a prominent authority in both the Serbian and Adriatic regions, as per the publications World Trademark Review. He advises domestic and international companies, artists, and authors on all aspects of intellectual property law, including copyright protection, trademarks and patents, confidentiality, and privacy.

Throughout a career spanning more than 17 years, Relja has represented clients in various complex disputes related to intellectual property, where he is recognized as one of the leading experts. His rich professional experience includes advising companies operating in the consumer goods, energy, film, media, and entertainment sectors on advertising and media law, as well as on various aspects of establishing and managing businesses and other corporate law matters.

Having graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Belgrade, Relja began his career in the Trademark Department of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia. Subsequently, he became part of the Karanović & Partners law firm, assuming a pivotal role as one of the primary legal advocates for the protection of intellectual property for various local and international corporations.

Along with his colleagues, in 2020 Relja founded the independent law firm Mirkov Law, specializing in intellectual property and corporate law. In response to the increasing demand for the firm’s services, the legal team at Mirkov Law took significant steps in 2024.

The team expanded and enhanced its professional capabilities by establishing collaboration with accomplished lawyers and experts in the realms of corporate and intellectual property law, Andreja Čivtelić and Milan Jakšić.

This collaboration led to the formation of the newly established joint law firm Mirkov Čivtelić & Jakšić, solidifying its position as one of the most proficient entities in the arenas of intellectual property protection and corporate law.

Relja has authored dozens of articles in the field of intellectual property protection and is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) committee for non-traditional trademarks. He was also part of the Working Group that drafted the current Law on Copyright and Related Rights in 2018. The World Trademark Review, an independent legal directory specializing in intellectual property law, has consistently ranked him as one of the leading figures in this field for the past five years.

He is an authorized representative in procedures for the protection of industrial property before the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia and an authorized patent representative before the European Patent Office.
